Sat Oct 27 - Toys 4 Tots Shopping - HMCCC members Mike & Martie K; Mike Locke & Debbie; Butch & Sissy; Ed & Marsha; Jim & Linda; JR & Joanne and Frank & Bev met at Toys R Us to do some shopping! Earl also showed up and shopping we went! JR & Joanne donated $50, so we had $550 to spend at Toys R Us. Ed worked with the manager and got one bike at a great price, and then we went to WalMart to spend another $500 on BIKES! We had long wanted to shop for bikes for Toys 4 Tots, and this year we did it!

We made quite a sight strolling 8 bikes of assorted sizes through WalMart and everyone thought they must be having a huge bike sale! JR worked with manager on duty and got us a 5% discount on the bikes. One woman, whose kids had received toys from Toys 4 Tots in the past, gave us each a hug. How great was that! We loaded up the bikes into Frank's pickup and headed over to the Golden Gears Cruise Night where Gary & Teresa joined us. The bikes were a huge success and I'm sure all the toys we donated will make a huge difference in Christmas for some local kids.
