This year's club picnic was held on Saturday, August 25th at the Mt. Airy IWLA. We lucked out and got a
gorgeous weather day; not too hot or humid and no rain. Paul Schneider and Larry Davidson put a lot of
effort into making it a great picnic. They coordinated a tasty menu of pulled pork and smoked brisket
catered by Chuck Wyant as a splurge for the club's 25th Anniversary; fried chicken, jumbo hot dogs,
assorted drinks, chips, and ice cream for the members to enjoy. They also went to the IWLA early in the
day and smoothed out the ruts in the driveway and parking lot so the classic cars could come in and park
without issues. Then there were the contributions by the members and guests that came out. Boy, did
we have an awesome spread of sides and desserts, including the traditional corn on the cob generously
supplied by JR and JoAnne Rosenberger. Everything was so yummy. Jim and Linda Riggs and their
grandson Marc setup drag races for folks to see which toy car would perform the best. Racers had fun
trying to get their cars across the finish line without being disqualified. Some of those not racing enjoyed
going through the photo albums with years of club photos in them that Sissy and Butch Riley brought,
while others just enjoyed visiting with one another.
