HMCCC/Alzheimers Association Partnership Celebrate HMCCC's 20th Anniversary
|
Following the 19th Annual Alzheimer’s Show several HMCCC members got to talking about how to “kick things up a notch” for the 20th Anniversary in 2012. The notion of building a Hot Rod to raffle off was raised and eventually took on a life of its own. Eventually we realized that building a car and selling enough raffle tickets to make the whole thing worthwhile for the 20th Anniversary of the Alzheimer’s Show, by then less than a year away, was a bit too ambitious. So we decided to shoot for HMCCC’s 20th in 2013 and the Raffle Rod Project was born.
The Raffle Rod Project involves selling 5000 tickets so some lucky winner can drive off in a Deuce Hi-boy Roadster built by HMCCC members and friends. Naturally, profits from ticket sales will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. In addition to the Grand Prize-winning ticket, which will be drawn at the 2013 Alzheimer’s Show, there will be four cash prize winners ($500, $300, $100 & $100) at the 2012 Alzheimer’s Show. The 2012 winner’s tickets will go back in the pot and they’ll be eligible to win again in 2013. Following the drawing of the Grand Prize-winning ticket, 10 more $100 winners will be drawn!
Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club is a not for profit organization formed in March, 1993 and incorporated in the State of Maryland. The club was established as an association of members for the purpose of encouraging restoration, preservation and enjoyment of 1955 through 1957 Chevrolet automobiles, including trucks and Corvettes.
HMCCC has been raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association for nearly 20 years. To date we have raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
The Alzheimer’s Association works on a global, national and local level to enhance care and support for all those affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias. They are here to help. As the largest, private non-profit funder of Alzheimer's research, the Association is committed to accelerating progress of new treatments, preventions and ultimately, a cure. Through their partnerships and funded projects, they have been part of every major research advancement over the past 30 years.
